DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re a seasoned Dominion veteran or a new player looking to play a bunch of games\, you need to be at Game Point Sunday\, June 5th for our Dominion Tournament.  Sign up ahead of time or show up to register at 6 pm.  Then at 6:30 pm\, you will play the first of three games of Dominion – every player will rotate through and try their luck at three different set ups.  We’ll look at everyone’s scores at the end of three rounds and the top four players will play a winner take all final game!  Winner will get their choice of a Dominion Expansion or a Game Point gift card! \nThere’s no fee for entering the event but each player is asked to spend a minimum of $15 on food and drink throughout the evening.

SUMMARY:Keyforge Night - Archon Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Tonight’s event will be a best of one\, Archon format.  You will need to bring our own Keyforge deck to the event.  Arrive by 6:30 pm to register your deck and sign in. First round will start shortly thereafter.  We ask that everyone playing plan to spend a minimum of $10 in food or drink.  The tournament winner will get a prize of Keyforge promotional materials or a Game Point gift card! \nWe’ll continue to test the Chainbound 2022 events and make this an official event.  What does that mean?  It means that we will register each deck before play begins.  The results of the tournament are reported back to the Fantasy Flight servers and decks are handicapped based on how well they have done.  In essence\, this helps to create a fluid meta around the game.  In addition\, playing and winning also earns you ambershards that can be redeemed for promotional stuff from Fantasy Flight Games.  So you’ll want to have downloaded the Keyforge app and have set up your personal account on the app before the tournament begins.  You can read more about the format on Fantasy Flight Keyforge Website.

DESCRIPTION:Our Magic drafting event is back.  Formerly known as Draft and a Draught – seem idea but with wider selection.  We start off with a Magic the Gathering booster draft\, then add on to that a beer or latte of your choice.  Top that off with three rounds of Swiss with the deck you drafted\, each match win getting you a bonus pack.  It all adds up to a fun\, fun night.  $18 (plus tax) gets you the cards for the draft\, any prize packs you win\, and your first drink. \nSet for this draft will be Streets of New Capenna. \nThis isn’t Wizard Play sanctioned and usually is pretty laid back – a great way to play some Magic\, especially if you haven’t played in a while.  We start registering people at 6:00 and aim to get started by 6:30 pm. Six people minimum for the draft.  Hope you’ll come join us!

DESCRIPTION:Since we have a fifth Thursday in June\, time to bust out a new format we haven’t tried before (I think) – Adaptive! \nEach round of this tournament consists of best-of-three matches. For the first game of each match\, players use their own decks. For the second game\, each player swaps decks with his or her opponent and plays using his or her opponent’s deck. \nIf the third game occurs\, players bid chains to use the deck which won both of the previous games. The player who brought the deck starts by bidding 0 chains\, and then the players take turns outbidding each other until a player declines to bid higher. The player who bid the highest uses that deck for the third game (with their bid number of chains applied at the start). \nWe probably will only have time for one or two rounds but come try what many to believe the most skill intensive Keyforge format!

DESCRIPTION:All skill levels are welcome at our monthly Chess Night at Game Point (first Tuesday of the month).  We’ll have a number of boards available for people to come in for a game.  In the before COVID times\, we had a number of people come in that had only played on the internet – and they commented how fun it was to play face to face.  You should be one of those faces! \nFor very new players\, one of our regulars won the 2020 Tennessee Open Amateur Division and would love to give some free lessons and pointers\, so come take advantage! \nChess Night happens monthly. DESCRIPTION:Not just your ordinary pub trivia night – Game Point hosts a monthly trivia competition as a Wits and Wagers style game show! \nWe’ll ask seven questions based on the month’s theme.  Each answer will be in the form of a number.  Not sure of the exact number – no worries\, you can still win the round.  The winning answer will be the closest number without going over\, so you can get points by just being close.  But that’s not the end of the game.  Before revealing the answer\, you’ll get a chance to bet on which answer you think is right\, whether your own or another team’s answer.  You win chips for being the closest AND for betting on the closest answer; use those chips to increase your bets in later rounds; finish with the most money and win!  Gift cards or games will be awarded to the winning team! \nWe’ll start getting team’s ready to go around 7:30 pm and start at 8 pm.  Bring your own team or come as a free agent! \nThis month’s theme: The Office

SUMMARY:Magic: The Gathering - Draft and a Drink
DESCRIPTION:Our Magic drafting event is back.  Formerly known as Draft and a Draught – seem idea but with wider selection.  We start off with a Magic the Gathering booster draft\, then add on to that a beer or latte of your choice.  Top that off with three rounds of Swiss with the deck you drafted\, each match win getting you a bonus pack.  It all adds up to a fun\, fun night.  $18 (plus tax) gets you the cards for the draft\, any prize packs you win\, and your first drink. \nSet for this draft will be Streets of New Capenna. \nThis isn’t Wizard Play sanctioned and usually is pretty laid back – a great way to play some Magic\, especially if you haven’t played in a while.  We start registering people at 6:00 and aim to get started by 6:30 pm. Six people minimum for the draft.  Hope you’ll come join us!

SUMMARY:Dominion Night
DESCRIPTION:In Dominion\, you are a local ruler trying to build your kingdom to win the game.  It is a game where you have a deck of cards that let you get points or buy new cards that might let you get more points.  Throughout the game\, your deck gets more personalized with the cards you buy and\, hopefully\, more able to acquire cards worth lots of points.  This type of game is known as a “deck builder” and Dominion was the first game to gain popularity of this type. \nEach second Wednesday come out and play some Dominion\, we’ll be teaching the game to new players and we’ll have tables and sets for vets as well.  If we build up a following and people are interested\, we’ll start a Dominion league later this fall.  Games start around 6:30 pm but will continue throughout the evening\, as they only take around 30 minutes to play.

SUMMARY:Keyforge: Archon Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Tonight’s event will be a best of one\, Archon format.  You will need to bring our own Keyforge deck to the event.  Arrive by 6:30 pm to register your deck and sign in. First round will start shortly thereafter.  We ask that everyone playing plan to spend a minimum of $10 in food or drink.  The tournament winner will get a prize of Keyforge promotional materials or a Game Point gift card! \nWe’ll continue to test the Chainbound 2022 events and make this an official event.  What does that mean?  It means that we will register each deck before play begins.  The results of the tournament are reported back to the Fantasy Flight servers and decks are handicapped based on how well they have done.  In essence\, this helps to create a fluid meta around the game.  In addition\, playing and winning also earns you ambershards that can be redeemed for promotional stuff from Fantasy Flight Games.  So you’ll want to have downloaded the Keyforge app and have set up your personal account on the app before the tournament begins.  You can read more about the format on Fantasy Flight Keyforge Website.
