DESCRIPTION:Come out to Game Point for a Draft and a Draft.  We start off with a Magic the Gathering booster draft\, then add on to that a draft beer from one of the many craft beers we have on tap (or a Kombucha or Nitro Coffee or . . . we have options).  Top that off with three rounds of Swiss with the deck you drafted\, each win getting you a bonus pack.  It all adds up to a fun\, fun night.  $20 gets you the cards for the draft\, any prize packs\, and a draft beer. \nCome take advantage of a last opportunity to draft Ixalan\, before things move on to Dominaria.  For this farewell weekend\, we’ll run drafts on Thursday and Sunday evenings. \nWhether you are currently into Magic\, or looking to have some fun with the game that you loved to play back in middle school (high school?) (college?) – come on out for an evening of mana and memories. \n(Must be 21 or over to play.  Draft will be 2 Rivals of Ixalan boosters and one Ixalan booster.)

DESCRIPTION:Game Point is hosting what promises to be the first of many Chess Nights.  We welcome chess players of all skill levels to come out and enjoy some food and drink while playing some chess.  We’ll have some boards on hand but please bring your set so we can get as many people playing as we can. Also we’ll be polling those in attendance about which weeks and frequency people want to get together\, so come to the first event to make your voice heard! \nPlans include building towards quarterly tournaments and a Game Point cafe chess ladder\, but first we need to build a crowd of players – so encourage your chess playing friends to come out to eat\, drink and play some chess.

SUMMARY:Publisher Demo: Geiger Expansion of Compounded
DESCRIPTION:A local Envoy Herald will be on hand doing demos of the Geiger Expansion to Compounded.  Dice Hate Me Games\, the publisher of Compounded\, describes the base game as \n. . .a game about building chemical compounds through careful management of elements\, a fair bit of social play and trading\, and just a bit of luck. In Compounded\, players take on the roles of lab managers\, hastily competing to complete the most compounds before they are finished by others – or destroyed in an explosion. Some compounds are flammable and will grow more and more volatile over time; take too long to gather the necessary elements for those compounds and a lot of hard work will soon be scattered across the lab. \nGeiger adds a new interactive element to this as players work together to contain radioactivity of their chemical creations.  Demos of the game will be available starting at 5 pm and can accomodate one to five chemists.  Come check it out! \n

SUMMARY:Splendor Tournament
DESCRIPTION:No experience necessary.  We’ll start at 6:00 pm with a teaching game for those that want to learn the game and then follow with some fun\, tournament style play!  At the evening’s end\, we will crown the Splendor Champion!  Winner will receive their choice of the base Splendor game or the Splendor Expansion: Cities of Splendor as well as a Game Point gift card. \nRegistration and the teaching session will begin at 6:00 pm\, we will start the tournament around 6:30 pm.  You can RSVP below to reserve your spot.  If you have a copy of Splendor\, feel free to bring it along so we can even more people involved! \nSplendor is a quick and strategic game for two to four players that plays in under an hour.  Here’s a description of the game from the publisher: \nTake on the role of a Renaissance merchant striving to become rich in Splendor\, a fast\, elegant\, and intuitive game for two to four players. SUMMARY:Game Point Olympiad
DESCRIPTION:If you are like us and are going through serious Winter Olympics withdraw – this event is for you.  Bring out a team of players to compete in the first Game Point Board Game Olympiad!  A team of four players will represent their “country” in a variety of game events. \nThe events will include three rounds.  In each round\, one of your team members must compete in one of that round’s games.  Doing well in your event will earn points for your team and the most decorated team will be crowned our victor and receive Game Point gift card prizes! \nRound One: Modern Strategy – Four modern classics occupy this round.  Games will include Catan\, Ticket to Ride\, Splendor and Caracassonne. \nRound Two: The Dice Hate Me – This round will require you to apply strategy to random results.  Games will include Can’t Stop\, Las Vegas\, King of Tokyo\, and Qwixx. \nRound Three: Lighter Fare – Quick family games take on a different feel with pride on the line.  Games will include Chicken Cha Cha Cha\, Rhino Hero Super Battle\, Don’t Break the Ice\, and Doctor Microbe. \nWe can’t promise victory and glory but we can promise an evening of laughter and fun!  We will teach games\, if needed\, or stop by during the month and get in some training.
