DESCRIPTION:All skill levels are welcome at our monthly Chess Night at Game Point (first Tuesday of the month).  We’ll have a number of boards available for people to come in for a game.  In the before COVID times\, we had a number of people come in that had only played on the internet – and they commented how fun it was to play face to face.  You should be one of those faces! \nFor very new players\, one of our regulars won the 2020 Tennessee Open Amateur Division and would love to give some free lessons and pointers\, so come take advantage! \nChess Night happens monthly. DESCRIPTION:SORRY BUT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO A MEDICAL ISSUE.  WE WILL DO IT AGAIN SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE! \nNot just your ordinary pub trivia night – Game Point’s monthly trivia competition is a Wits and Wagers style game show! \nWe’ll ask seven questions based on the month’s theme.  Each answer will be in the form of a number.  Not sure of the exact number – no worries\, you can still win the round.  The winning answer will be the closest number without going over\, so you can get points by just being close.  But that’s not the end of the game.  Before revealing the answer\, you’ll get a chance to bet on which answer you think is right\, whether your own or another team’s answer.  You win chips for being the closest AND for betting on the closest answer; use those chips to increase your bets in later rounds; finish with the most money and win!  Gift cards or games will be awarded to the winning team! \nWe’ll start getting team’s ready to go around 7:30 pm and start at 8 pm.  Bring your own team or come as a free agent! \nThis month’s there is Twilight – I mean it’s Vampire Month at Game Point\, what did you expect?

DESCRIPTION:Interested in Keyforge?  Tonight’s for you.  Our regular community of players will be having an open play night\, but it’s a perfect night to try out the game with us. \nWhat is Keyforge?  Keyforge is a unique deck game where you race your opponent to forge three keys but gathering resources and denying them the same.  It’s unique because no two decks in the game are the same.  A computer algorithm generates each list of cards in the deck so that each one is different from every other one.  The game just finished a wildly successful crowd funding campaign – get in now for the resurgance coming in 2023. \nCome on out at 6:30 pm and forge some keys!

SUMMARY:Dominion Night
DESCRIPTION:In Dominion\, you are a local ruler trying to build your kingdom to win the game.  It is a game where you have a deck of cards that let you get points or buy new cards that might let you get more points.  Throughout the game\, your deck gets more personalized with the cards you buy and\, hopefully\, more able to acquire cards worth lots of points.  This type of game is known as a “deck builder” and Dominion was the first game to gain popularity of this type. \nEach second Wednesday come out and play some Dominion\, we’ll be teaching the game to new players and we’ll have tables and sets for vets as well.  We are getting close to having enough people interested\, to start a Dominion league later this fall – so come on out.  Games start around 6:30 pm but will continue throughout the evening\, as they only take around 30 minutes to play.  There’s not a fee in play in our events\, but please plan to purchase drinks or snacks to make this possible.

SUMMARY:Keyforge: Archon Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Tonight’s event will be a best of one\, Archon format.  You will need to bring our own Keyforge deck to the event.  Arrive by 6:30 pm to register your deck and sign in. First round will start shortly thereafter.  We ask that everyone playing plan to spend a minimum of $10 in food or drink.  The tournament winner will get a prize of Keyforge promotional materials or a Game Point gift card! \nWe’ll continue to test the Chainbound 2022 events and make this an official event.  What does that mean?  It means that we will register each deck before play begins.  The results of the tournament are reported back to the Keyforge servers and decks are handicapped based on how well they have done.  In essence\, this helps to create a fluid meta around the game.  In addition\, playing and winning also earns you ambershards – they used to be redeemable of promotional stuff from Fantasy Flight Games – not sure what Ghost Galaxy Games will do with them!  So you’ll want to have downloaded the Keyforge app and have set up your personal account on the app before the tournament begins.  You can read more about the format on Fantasy Flight Keyforge Website.
