It’s been a number of years since Game Point hosted a qualifier for the Catan National Championships. The drought is over! Game Point is hosting three preliminary events on May 9th, May 18th or May 22nd. At each event, you will play three games of Catan. Each player will be ranked based on finish place and points earned. You can read the full tournament rules here. You can play in multiple nights, but only your best score will count towards the rankings.
The top sixteen finishers will be invited back to the final night on June 1st. The winner of the Game Point event earns a seat at the National Championships. The date and location of that event have not been announced yet. If you win there, you earn a seat at the World Championships!
There isn’t a fee to join the event, but all players should plan on purchasing at least $10 in food and drink over the course of the evening. Game Point offers a full coffee bar, food and snack menu, and a number of local craft beers on tap! There are plenty of options to keep your belly happy while planning on how to grab the longest road!
You can read all the details and reserve your seat by visiting the qualifier night that you are interested in on our event calendar! Just a reminder, in order for you to be able to compete in the US National Champs you must be a resident of the United States and be 18+ years of age. You should be able to prove residency with an official ID card and/or a piece of mail (such as a utility bill) sent to a United States residential address. All winners of current season Qualifier Tournaments are not allowed to play in additional Qualifier events leading up to the next National Championship.
So who has brick to trade?
